What Christina Can Say About The Kindle Publishing Income Program

Hi, my name is Christina ACH from South Africa. I’ve been a member of K P I for about a year. This is my book, an Old Man and a Crow, and other original tales written by a friend of mine, Michelle Hamstra. Her work is really good and needed to be published. The audio version has just been released by a C X if I’d been wise, canning, and sensible. I would’ve published the book following all the guidelines and advice that Sophie and her team had outlined so carefully and thoroughly. I wasn’t. The book is half Fiction being six delightful short stories and half nonfiction containing writing prompts, reflection suggestions, music to listen to, et cetera. Instant category dilemma. I wasn’t allowed to publish in both, and the book ended up in fiction, which is highly competitive. It does have good reviews, but not so many and is lurking in the depths of the Amazon listing.

Amazon is not in South Africa yet. They’re coming soon, which should make a big difference in terms of marketing and sales. Although the book hasn’t been successful yet financially emphasis on yet, it has been a great success on many other levels. I’m a health practitioner by profession artist, a musician, and do not have a business bone in my body. I discovered a lot about myself in this process and how I easily get stressed when working in areas I’m not familiar with while appreciating technology. I’m actually quite scared of it, and so it’s been a huge learning curve and definitely out of my comfort zone, but the satisfaction of a job well done has been wonderful. One unexpected discovery was how much I enjoyed narrating the book for audio, and I’m definitely going to be doing more of that. And there are three more books in the pipeline. Thank you K P I for your guidance. I always got an efficient and prompt reply to even the lamest of questions and felt very supported by that. So much gratitude. Thank you.
