Hi, my name is Kristin and I’m an entrepreneur running a few businesses of my own related to property, and I’m from Auckland, New Zealand. I first heard about Sophie’s course from a girlfriend of mine who was doing Sophie’s Amazon selling course of physical products, and she mentioned Sophie’s Kindle Direct Publishing course to me, and I thought, well, why not check it out.
As I am sure you are, I was dubious at first and thought, well, how can it work? But I did reluctantly purchase the course. Actually, I convinced my mom and my son to do it with me, so it was a bit of a family investment and we haven’t looked back. Yes, my 13-year-old son did the course online with me, and so did my 72-year-old mum. Actually, they both got their first book published before me.
We learned everything from Sophie’s course and have now published eight books between us in four months. Before taking the course, I was looking for a way to make a side income and still spend time with my kids, and this was perfect. I didn’t really think that it would suit the whole family for them to make a side income too.
I now know that there’s a lot of information out there about Kindle Direct Publishing, but Sophie’s course wrapped it all up in one neat bundle for me, and it really was an easy process. I now understand the end-to-end processing of… Sorry, the end-to-end process of writing via a ghost writer and self-publishing a book. Prior to the course, I hadn’t even heard of a ghost writer. Now, I have a few favorites.
I have some initial income from the books, which is growing at about 300% per month, which I find incredible. I will be keeping this as my side hustle for now because it fits my life as a busy mom, but I loved the fact that I have helped my son and my mum develop their own side hustle too.
I think this is an amazing gift to give my children, opening their eyes to the potential of Amazon. I wish that I’d known about something like this when I was younger. So if you’re sitting on the fence and I get the feeling of fear that comes from passing money over for an unknown course, I can tell you that I have no regrets. So feel the fear and do it anyway.
